About Engraver Sans Engraver Sans is based on my typeface Midiety in 1990, completed in 1995. Not the whole but I found close resembrance in Martin Gothic with Midiety, so I decided to design in another way. Geometric, simple and rather characteristic; this is the first aim in designing, I changed direction, more playful face like "Midieval Characters" that the early version of Futura had (actually, they are not out as real casts because they have less legibilities). Futura is a geometric modern face, and at the same time it has classical mood from its characters' proportions. Engraver Sans is designed with inspirations from it, and calligraphies or uncial style faces. Engraver Sans is designed by Yamaoka Yasuhiro 1995.
